“The Cataract Song” is one of the more mysterious songs on the Story of the Ghost outtakes otherwise known as “The Bearsville Sessions.” The song consists mainly of cryptic vocals from Mike that are more spoken than sung – and that don’t seem to reference cataracts it should be noted – over a very sparse musical landscape (think “Fikus”) of bass, drums and unintelligible muttering. The song has not yet been played in the live setting, and it seems doubtful that it ever will.
