The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

But on this day that all ended and the Simple floodgates we’re busted open. The song would never be the same as it had now transformed into a significant jam vehicle. There have been many amazing versions since then but those who are fans of this tune can thank this version as being the origin of them all.
I don’t think this is the best ever version of Simple (my top choice to date is still 8.6.17) but the importance of this version moving this tune to the next level cannot be overstated. Also, for those keeping track, as far as I can tell, this is the longest version the band has played.
