The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

Once again PHiSH was able to make the show I was attending feel and sound like the best show I have ever seen. Expectations for the 31st as always were running high. Leading up to NYE I hadn't seen them play a cover song since Funky Bitch in AC, the lone cover that night. Not doing any covers was super clever, and such a great way to celebrate the music of Phish!
The NYE celebration had it all, the videos were hilarious, and a fun way to spend the breaks. The music was great with danceable songs, rocking jams, and interesting bust outs. Not a lot of glam here like other years just stripped down Phish playing in the middle of the worlds greatest arena.
I can't pinpoint or highlight one song or moment because to me they were all great, I have such an appreciation for what Phish does, it's not easy to pour your heart out on stage, basically exposing yourself to everyone. Song writing is hard, perfection is demanded, and listening to critics is even harder.
If there was an 30th anniversary show in 2013 this was it with hockey stick mics and all, we had cake, a video montage, the music of Phish, old TMWSIY songs, the Jemp truck, the save the date, the Telluride reenactment, and the message was delivered loud and clear.
It feels like 2013 was hand down one of the best years of Phish, and 2014 has the potential to be even better as does every song, or jam, or show they play. I remember a little cheer from Red Rocks 1994 (audible on the tapes) from me and my friends that sums it up, 'You Guys Rock!'
NYE Bust Outs:
SIHTOS: played for just the 12th time ever, 4th in 2013, I think the ocean played this for Phish this summer
GLIDE: interestingly only the 3rd time played in 3.0, and all three at MSG
SUGAR SHACK: 15th ever, all 3.0
COL FROBIN: 6th of 3.0
LLAMA: 9th of 3.0
FYF: 8th time ever
REBA: only the 4th of 2013
ICCULUS: only played 26 times since 1986
LIZARDS: 11th time in 3.0
GRIND: 16th ever since it's debut at MSG in 1998
